John,
One of the biggest wins of this year’s historic legislative session was the passage of the Restore the Vote Act, which restored voting rights to 50,000 formerly incarcerated Minnesotans.
So when a judge in Mille Lacs County was attempting to rule the Restore the Vote Act unconstitutional last month, I stepped in to defend it.
On this Election Day, I’m proud to say that the Minnesota Court of Appeals ruled in our favor, and the voting rights of those 50,000 Minnesotans are protected once again.
This decision is a victory for our democracy and our entire judicial system. But make no mistake: This incident serves as a reminder that the right to vote is precious. Special interests and ideological forces are always working against us, and we can’t get caught flat-footed.
Your support truly powers the work I do that makes victories like this possible, and today, I’m asking you to step up so we can continue working together to help people afford their lives and live with dignity, safety, and respect.
John, I can’t say it enough: Absolutely none of my work would be possible without you. Will you make a contribution of $10, $25, or $50 today so I can keep fighting for us every day?
Thank you,
Keith Ellison
