Sometimes, candidates have to make some difficult choices as they try to put together a winning campaign—especially when challenging an incumbent that takes money from every special interest and every industry that is willing to lay money at his feet in exchange for a seat at the table in Washington.
However, refusing campaign contributions from the fossil fuel industry and their lobbyists was not a difficult choice. I am proud to take the No Fossil Fuel Money Pledge. The climate crisis is too urgent, and the promise of a clean energy economy is too important for the people of my District and every new generation of Americans across the country. We must change the way we do business in campaigns, clean up our dirty political system, and fight in a principled way for a sustainable future for our children.
I won't be tied to corporate interests, or their lobbyists. If you can, please support campaigns like mine that pledge to refuse contributions from the fossil fuel industry—your support can help fight back against the corrupting influence of dirty money in politics.
Thank you for making an impact and fighting for a clean energy future.
