Astonishing news, friend - A few days ago, the FDA released a proposal to REVOKE authorization of brominated vegetable oil (or BVO) from use in food. While this is great progress, the FDA has known for years about the health dangers of BVO. Because of the lack of national action, major beverage companies and the state of California have already stepped up to remove BVO from food and beverage products. Take a look at some of the other food additives California recently banned that are still present in hundreds of packaged foods and allowed by the FDA: |

That’s just the tip of the iceberg. Europe has also banned these chemicals and more from nearly all processed foods, but the FDA hasn’t even reviewed some of them since the 1970s. If these additives are too dangerous to be used in California and the EU, why are they still being used nationwide?
