On Monday night, I was deeply honored to receive PEN America's top book prize for my novel Where Reasons End. It was truly humbling to be seen, to be heard, to have this book receive this recognition.
This is the magic of PEN America. Throughout the year, not just through its awards but through fellowships and grants and events across the country, PEN America lifts up authors. PEN America celebrates books. PEN America transforms careers and ensures that writers like me are included in the pantheon of American literature.
