We’ll look at what the Constitution says about voting rights, how these rights have changed over time, and conclude with an insider look at the different ways in which people have cast their ballots over the centuries. REGISTER NOW Live from the Museum: The 54th Massachusetts Regiment Friday, November 10 | 9 a.m. ET Commemorate Veterans Day live from the Center's compelling exhibit, Civil War and Reconstruction: The Battle for Freedom and Equality, for an inside look at the experiences of the soldiers who served in the 54th Massachusetts Regiment. We'll look at special artifacts, including a ladder badge worn by a volunteer infantryman in the 54th and a notice carried by Frederick Douglass giving him permission to travel freely between the states to recruit to the newly founded force. REGISTER NOW Civic Stories: Women in the Military Friday, November 10 | Noon ET  Commemorate Veterans Day with a conversation featuring women who served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Speakers will share their stories of service and answer student questions. This program is presented in partnership with the Veterans Multi-Service Center. Younger learners are invited to join educators from the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center for an interactive program about the function, history, architecture, and art of the Capitol. This program is presented in partnership with the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center. U.S. Capitol Visitor Center educators will share a virtual tour of the Capitol highlighting some of the most iconic features in the building. This program is presented in partnership with the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center. REGISTER NOW Professional Learning for Educators The Bill of Rights Featuring Stuart Leibiger Wednesday, November 15 | 6:30–8 p.m. ET In this session, participants explore the Bill of Rights—its rights, its protections and limitations on government—and the process by which it was discussed, debated, and ratified. We will also examine the role of the 14th Amendment in many Bill of Rights-related questions in the modern day. Professor Stuart Leibiger of La Salle University joins us.
