🔥 What's at stake, and why your testimony matters 🔥
Texas is one of the country’s largest markets for public school textbooks. The materials adopted by the SBOE this year will inform how children across the country (not just in Texas) learn about climate change, evolution, and other important topics for the next 10 years (!) until they're up for review again. The fact is, John, historically, very few people outside the SBOE choose to get involved in the textbook adoption process. But you know who is paying attention? Oil and gas lobbyists. And they're lobbying the Board.
We need people like you to hold the SBOE accountable so that they'll put students first — not buckle under the influence of fossil fuel lobbyists and other far-right interests who want to scratch any mentions of human-caused climate change from science textbooks. |
