Domestic violence and guns are a lethal combination. If you add a gun to the equation, the domestic violence victim is 500% more likely to be killed. As City Attorney, I led efforts to get guns out of the hands of domestic abusers. The group I co-founded and co-led, Prosecutors Against Gun Violence, co-issued a report on how jurisdictions across America could do the same. And I had the honor of speaking at the Obama White House to policymakers from across the country about how laws like these can save lives. Simply put, it would be a disaster for the Supreme Court to upend this crucial protection for domestic violence survivors.
