Friend,

The families and loved ones of the Israelis and foreign nationals taken
hostage by Hamas terrorists have endured unrelenting fear and pain in the
weeks since October 7. Children, parents and grandparents ripped from
their homes, their location and welfare unknown.

J Street condemns the brutal crimes committed by Hamas and calls for the
immediate release of the hostages, and for every effort to be made by the
US government and the international community to ensure their safe return.

It’s an unimaginable nightmare. The anguish brought on by this horrific
mass kidnapping is shared across Israel, across the J Street community and
throughout the diaspora community around the world.

This Thursday, November 9, we’ll be joined by Rachel Goldberg, the mother
of 23-year-old Hersh Goldberg-Polin who was taken hostage by Hamas during
their terror attack on the Supernova music festival. We’ll also speak with
Dr. Gershon Baskin, a former Israeli hostage negotiator, as well as an
Israeli-Palestinian peace activist and policy expert, with experience
negotiating for the release of hostages from Hamas.

We’d be grateful if you would consider registering to join this public
call and sharing this invitation with your networks. Together, we’ll
discuss how we can support efforts to protect and release hostages safely
to their families. [ [link removed] ]Click here to register >>

Hersh Goldberg-Polin, a dual Israeli-US citizen, was celebrating his 23rd
birthday at the Supernova music festival. The harrowing details of his
injuries and abduction have been shared by fellow survivors of the attack
on the festival in which over 260 young revelers were killed. “He’s a
survivor,” his mother told interviewers.

J Street supports any and all efforts to secure the safety and swift
return of hostages to their families, and will continue to make sure their
concerns remain at the forefront of the minds of leaders and policymakers.
We fully support efforts to bring the perpetrators of this appalling
violation of international law to justice.

Our community is circulating a petition to the Senate urging Congress to
make the safe return of the hostages a top priority. [ [link removed] ]You can read, sign

J Street is the political home for pro-Israel, pro-peace, pro-democracy
Americans who want Israel to be secure, democratic and the national home of the
Jewish people. Working in American politics and the Jewish community, we
advocate policies that advance shared US and Israeli interests as well as Jewish
and democratic values, leading to a two-state solution to the
Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
