Take Action to Shut Down the Dakota Access Oil Pipeline

For years, the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe has led a long fight against the dirty Dakota Access Oil Pipeline, which comes within half a mile of their reservation, threatening sacred sites and the main source of clean drinking water for the Tribe and other communities.

Now, the Army Corps of Engineers has been ordered by the courts to conduct a new environmental impact analysis and gather public comments as a result of the Tribe’s steadfast leadership in opposing this pipeline.

We need your help to reach 3,000 signatures from environmentalists like you demanding that the dirty Dakota Access Pipeline be shut down for good. Please take action today — it only takes a minute to add your name >>

The Dakota Access Oil Pipeline is nearly 1,200 miles long and carries 1.1 million barrels of crude oil per day from the Bakken oil fields of North Dakota for export. Despite being one of the largest oil pipelines in the U.S., it was built without adequate environmental analysis or consultation with the Standing Rock Sioux and Cheyenne River Sioux Tribes.

This pipeline is at cross purposes with the Biden administration’s climate and environmental justice goals, and a public process should reflect the administration’s commitment to honor Tribal sovereignty and conduct robust and meaningful Tribal consultation. This public comment period is criticalthis is our best opportunity yet to urge the Army Corps of Engineers to protect our water, climate, and communities by shutting down the Dakota Access Oil Pipeline.

Don’t miss this opportunity — take action to urge the Army Corps of Engineers to shut down the Dakota Access Pipeline >>

Thank you for taking action to protect our environment and impacted communities.

Onward,

LCV Conservation Team
