Dear John,

When polls in Texas close tomorrow night at 7 p.m., we won't have too long to wait before learning the fate of all 14 constitutional amendments that are on this year's ballot.

How these amendments are decided, and to what extent **[our Voting Recommendations]([link removed] carry the day tomorrow, will have powerfully important implications.

Many Texas voters — especially Democratic Texas voters — may use this election as a proving ground, deciding whether it’s worth it to vote in next year's election.

If we can show strength and momentum now — by defeating MAGA-fueled constitutional amendments like **Proposition 1**, which would favor Big Ag over local Texas farmers, and **Proposition 10**, which gives Big Pharma a tax break at the expense of our local schools — people will know that our locally-powered parent movement has what it takes to help carry the Democratic agenda to victory here in Texas.

Especially if constitutional amendments like **Proposition 9,** which provides Texas school teachers a better, more equitable retirement, pass at the same time.

If we fail — if people like you don't step forward to cast a ballot this election — there's a risk that prospective voters will write off 2024 entirely, they'll stay at home, and we won’t be able to count on them when it comes to defeating candidates like Donald Trump or Ted Cruz.

**In other words: what we do tomorrow could become one of the best predictors of how we'll do a year from now, on Election Day 2024.**
