Native American Heritage Month | |
The designation of November as Native American Heritage Month goes back to a joint congressional resolution signed by President George HW Bush in 1990, with similar proclamations being issued every year since 1994. This is a time to celebrate the traditions, stories, and languages of Native American, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, and affiliated Island communities. We are #PFLAGProud to support this rich and diverse community, including by investing in minority-owned depository institutions such as Bay Bank, founded in 1995 by the Oneida Nation and a group of five local businessmen, and since 2000, solely owned by the Oneida Nation.
