[link removed] [[link removed]] John, meet the new Speaker of the House: key election denier Mike Johnson.
[link removed] [[link removed]]During an interview, when a reporter began a question with “You helped lead the effort to overturn the 2020 election results, do you…” Johnson and his Republican colleagues booed the reporter and skipped the question. If Mike Johnson won’t give you the answer, we will.
A New York Times investigation [[link removed]] last year called Johnson “the most important architect of the Electoral College objections” on January 6, 2021.
Johnson argued that voting procedure changes due to the COVID pandemic were “unconstitutional” and he convinced 125 House Republicans to join him in filing a brief to the Supreme Court supporting a Texas lawsuit to overturn President Biden's wins in Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
And now he is Speaker of the House.
With a leader of the Sedition Caucus now empowered as the leader of the House, CREW’s work to protect our democracy and hold those accountable who try to undermine it is more important than ever.
