Before the newly elected speaker held this current role, Representative Mike Johnson did whatever he could to help Trump remain in power despite losing the 2020 election. And now as speaker, his conquest to help Trump reassume power continues—this time through advancing the sham impeachment inquiry into President Biden.

In a recent Fox News interview, Speaker Johnson confirmed that the inquiry and investigation will continue.1 This is in stark contrast to Johnson's role both times Trump was impeached—he voted against impeaching Trump twice and made his name as a relative newcomer by staunchly defending Trump's real impeachable offenses. Johnson was among the chief House architects of the effort to throw out the 2020 election.2 He's the ultimate election denier. He does not operate from the truth, but instead the MAGA agenda.

The truth is that impeaching President Biden is part of the GOP's insidious strategy to distract voters, vilify Biden, and pave the way for Trump to take back the White House in 2024. Trump has even been pushing his close allies to impeach Biden, directing the entire charade from the sidelines.3

These MAGA extremists are simply extensions of the Trump campaign, working to discredit Biden without any evidence. And here's the scary part: Even if they know they don’t have any evidence and will never get any, they could still win by carrying on and twisting the truth to their followers. They must be stopped.
 
Now, after the first impeachment hearing utterly failed, Representative James Comer, the leader of the sham impeachment inquiry, doesn't want to hold any more public hearings.4 This comes after a senior Republican aide called the first hearing "an unmitigated disaster."5 Their principal GOP witness even claimed, "I do not believe that the current evidence would support articles of impeachment."6 They want to operate in private, being able to spread lies without any accountability.
  
Monthslong Republican efforts to find any reason to impeach Biden have amounted to absolutely nothing. Because the dirt doesn't exist. But they're not letting reality stop them from carrying on the charade, because they'll do anything to grub for political power, no matter the cost to the rest of us.
