After three chaotic and embarrassing weeks for the Republican Party, Rep. Mike Johnson (LA-04) was finally elected as the latest speaker of the House. He's being painted as a middle-of-the-road workhorse who just wants to see House business get back to normal. That portrayal is dead wrong.

The truth is, Johnson is an anti-abortion extremist. He said he had been “anxiously awaiting” a full frontal assault to the law of legalized abortion in our country. He has spent his political career trying to rip away reproductive freedom by any means necessary . And after Roe v. Wade fell, he tweeted this message: “Perform an abortion and get imprisoned at hard labor for 1-10 yrs & fined $10K-$100K.” Take a look:
