** Health Justice
------------------------------------------------------------
In this week’s Health Justice newsletter, we feel like we’ve gone back in time. First, after the Supreme Court reversed 50 years of precedent on reproductive rights, a new abortion services dashboard shows dwindling access across the country—as anti-abortion laws and restrictions continue to emerge in real time. Next, Black Lung disease is often thought of as a thing of the past, but it’s making a comeback. Proposed new regulations are a first step toward better protection against the preventable disease. However, the law is an imperfect tool for justice, as attorney and activist Anneke Dunbar-Gronke reflected in a recent NPQ webinar. Without organizing to shift the balance of power, those limitations can—and will—prevent progress. But that is why we’re here. The nonprofit sector thrives when we work together to advance civil society, so NPQ is partnering with Alliance magazine to offer deeper insights into philanthropy and social justice movements. Our special joint subscription offer ends
November 30.
