The latest: Israel refuses a ceasefire until Hamas releases all hostages.

Amid world leaders calling for a ceasefire, Netanyahu said Israel rejects the request to halt the attack on Gaza. The prime minister said during a televised address:

"Israel refuses a temporary ceasefire that does not include the return of our hostages."

Hamas still holds over 240 hostages that were taken on Oct. 7.

Hezbollah leader threatens to escalate battle

Hezbollah's leader, Hassan Nasrallah, made a widely anticipated televised statement on Friday that his militia is already engaged in battle along the Lebanon-Israel border and threatened to escalate the fight further. He did not, however, announce that Hezbollah would fully enter the war, which many debated if he would.

U.N. calls out major corporations for low wages

A U.N. rapporteur has urged CEOs of Amazon, Walmart, and DoorDash, along with the U.S. government, to address reports of low wages, which are pushing employees into poverty and to rely on government assistance.
