Friends and Comrades- A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed our electoral work this season. Whether you canvassed, phone banked, showed up to an event, or simply exercised your right to vote, it's been so exciting to see all the engagement with important local issues. We're showing up and fighting, and when we fight, we win!

At the last General Meeting, our chapter endorsed at letter primarily composed by member Sam Hitt calling on our national legislators to shift Federal fire policy to focus on readying home-owners in rural areas most vulnerable to fire and on the practice of proforestation. We area sending this letter to Ben Ray Lujan, Martin Heinrich, and Teresa Leger Fernandez and hope to get a response, as well as a possible meeting with them to discuss fire policy. If you would like to see a copy of the letter, please email [email protected].

Because we've been running a nationally endorsed campaign, our chapter has the opportunity to select two members to be electors for the National Electoral Commission's Steering Committee. This committee is a body of 13 leaders who will guide us through the expansion committed to by convention with passage of our consensus resolution. If you'd like to nominate someone to be an elector(including yourself!) please email [email protected].

DSA depends on support from ordinary members, rather than corporate funding or grants. As we ramp up our campaigns to take on the millionaire and billionaire class in New Mexico, any donations you can provide will go a long way.
