This fall, approximately 9,000 school districts across 35 states are holding elections for school board – and with book-banning extremists flooding into school board races nationwide, the quality of our children’s education is truly on the line.

That’s why we’re calling on progressive voters like you to stand up against extremism in our schools and make your voice heard at the ballot box!

The COVID-19 pandemic saw school boards become a platform for national political debates, as right-wing parents, community members, and elected officials raged against mask mandates and vaccines in schools.

Then, school board meetings were stormed with unfounded fears about critical race theory and LGBTQ+ content replacing the curriculum of elementary school students – and “Don’t Say Gay” bills rose in popularity nationwide.

Now, school board races are a top target for extremists intent on banning books and controlling what our children can learn about in school.

For our students to succeed, we need our public schools to be run by leaders who invest in education and trust teachers – not by those who want to empty our library shelves, rewrite our history textbooks, and censor our teachers.
