Now more than ever, we need to take precautions to ensure the health of everybody here in Southwest Washington. So, John -- in light of recent information about the spread of the Coronavirus Disease in Washington state, I’m writing to you today with information and resources from the CDC to help keep our community healthy.

The fact is that protecting our community requires a plan and smart leadership. As we continue to learn more about COVID-19, it is important to stay aware of ways to prevent you and your loved ones from falling ill:

Wash your hands with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds (and only use hand sanitizer when soap and water isn't available).
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
Cover your coughs and sneezes.
Clean surfaces that are touched or used frequently.
Avoid coming into contact with people who are sick.
Stay home if you are sick.

It’s always the right time to prioritize health, John. Now more than ever, take care of yourself and your loved ones. Visit the CDC website for precautionary measures you can take to stay healthy. Call 1-800-525-0127 and press "#” to reach the Washington State call center to ask a question specifically about Coronavirus. And don’t hesitate to contact a health care provider if you believe you’ve been exposed.

Be well,

-- Carolyn
