Hey John, I’m reaching out to you with a sense of urgency that grips my heart. Today, I’m reminded of the words President Obama often said, "The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something." Right now, there is something happening that should compel us all into action: an insidious new ballot tactic being tested by Republicans this Election Day. It's more than a tactic; it's a calculated maneuver to restrict voting rights and ballot access, particularly among minorities and underserved communities. The very fabric of our democracy is being threatened, and it’s incumbent upon us to stand up, speak out, and ensure that we fight for justice at the ballot box. The only surefire way to protect our voting rights and keep our democracy accessible to every American is to enact change at the Federal level. But, to do this, we must rally together to take back Congress. My opponent, Jeff Van Drew, has repeatedly shown support for every regressive initiative the Republican Party rolls out to limit ballot access. From the halls of Congress to the streets of our neighborhoods, these actions aim to silence voices that deserve to be heard! Our democracy was built on the principles of freedom, fairness, and the right for each voice to be heard. What we’re seeing today is a Republican Party that is moving away from these principles, determined to reshape the rules to benefit the few at the expense of the many. This isn’t about partisan politics; it’s about the pillars of our nation and the creed that all men and women are created equal with the inalienable right to shape their future.
