John, in 1923, 100 years ago, a brave group of women unveiled the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA). This proposed constitutional amendment would guarantee equal rights for all Americans regardless of sex or gender.
100 years later, we're still fighting to pass this amendment and secure true equality for all.

Throughout the decades, the ERA has been disparaged, resurrected and pushed to the side. But at a moment when we’re seeing retrogressive laws and policies attacking women’s rights, and the right to an abortion has been ripped away from millions, we can no longer let this cycle continue.
Even though the ERA achieved ratification by the required 38 states to become an amendment, it did so after an arbitrary deadline that was set in place for it to be adopted into the Constitution. The House voted to remove this unnecessary deadline, affirming that the ERA had been ratified and should be enshrined as the 28th Amendment (a measure I was proud to support!) – but Republicans have been stalling the process in the senate for years.
That's why I'm standing firmly today and calling for the Equal Rights Amendment to finally be passed – and I'm counting on you to stand with me. Click here to become a citizen co-sponsor of the ERA!

John, if we help successfully ratify the ERA, it would provide legal defense against efforts to outlaw abortion, strengthen protections for people facing sex discrimination.
These protections could not be more vital – especially with the Republican Party continuing to shift further and further right. I'm counting on 5,000 people to take action right now to help ratify the ERA, so please:
In honor of the ERA's 100th anniversary, will you add your name to my petition now to become a citizen co-sponsor of the Equal Rights Amendment?

Thank you.
