John, I watched with concern this week as the Supreme Court heard its first major reproductive rights case under its new conservative majority.
At issue is a Louisiana law that requires doctors who perform abortions to obtain admitting privileges from a nearby hospital -- which would effectively leave just one doctor in the state who is allowed to perform the procedure. This is a direct attack on access to reproductive healthcare that will disproportionately affect low-income women and women of color. If the Supreme Court upholds the law, other states will surely follow suit. We know where these egregious attacks are headed.
As a doctor -- and as a woman -- I'm insulted by these laws that are designed to prevent qualified medical professionals from giving people essential information and care. Legislators are denying facts and science, all to control women's personal medical decisions.
I've been there when women have had to make the difficult decision to end a pregnancy, and I vehemently believe these decisions must always be based in medical science, and they must remain between a woman and her doctor.
At a moment when reproductive rights are under attack, we need strong pro-choice advocates in Congress. I will always use my background as a physician to vigorously defend the right to choose -- but first I need to defeat my staunchly anti-choice opponent, David Schweikert. So please pitch in what you can to help us flip this critical seat in November >>

Schweikert has made it clear where he stands on this core issue of healthcare, civil rights, economic freedom, personal faith, and privacy.
In January, he signed onto a letter urging the Supreme Court to "revisit" Roe v. Wade. And he's voted repeatedly to defund Planned Parenthood and deprive millions of working families of access to affordable, comprehensive reproductive healthcare.
We must hold accountable politicians like Schweikert who believe they should be dictating women's medical decisions. With your support, we will.
Our grassroots campaign -- which doesn't take any money from corporate PACs -- has outraised Schweikert every quarter. We need to repeat that performance this month, because his deep-pocketed, dark money allies have begun to spend on his behalf.
If you want leaders who believe women should have autonomy over their own bodies, please stand with me. Donate $15, $25, $50, or whatever you can today!
With gratitude,

Hiral
