Friends,
Can you believe it’s already November? That means we are just a little over a year out from the 2024 elections, and less than two months until the holiday season has come and gone.
It also means that Giving Tuesday is right around the corner!
We are incredibly grateful for your support as we continue to grow Their Future PAC. It’s been a busy few months and we wanted to share a few highlights.
While our kids shouldn’t have to wait another day for a Kids First Majority in the House, these elections will be here before we know it. This work is hard but there are some definite bright spots to highlight!
Last week, Senators Warnock, Fetterman and Heinrich teamed up to introduce the
Healthy Meals Help Kids Learn Act. In the fight to reduce childhood poverty, ensuring every child has access to meals is paramount, and we’re so grateful for partners like this in the Senate!
Thank you to Senator Tammy Duckworth and Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley who introduced the Support Through Loss Act in both chambers, in order to help ensure that those experiencing the loss of a pregnancy are fully supported with access to resources, workforce supports, and patient centered care.
What do Reps Yadira Caraveo & Kim Schrier have in common?
They are the only two pediatricians in Congress. Add former grade school teacher Congressman Greg Landsman to the mix, and you have three members of Congress that we think truly embody our mission and work.
We were thrilled to make them the first three 2024 Their Future. Our Vote endorsees.
Congrats to Reps Caraveo, Schrier, and Landsman! We can’t wait to re-elect you next year. Stay tuned for more endorsements!
ICYMI: We recently rolled out our brand new
Kids First Agenda as we work towards our mission to educate leaders and lawmakers on policies that will create a brighter, healthier, and more equitable future for our children.
You’ll hear a lot more about this. As we’ve said before,
we have over 73 million reasons to invest in the future, and every single one of them deserves our attention, our compassion, our voice, and our vote.
One exciting (and exhausting!) part of running Their Future PAC is that Renee and I are always on the go! Last month, we traveled to DC for a busy week of meetings, strategy sessions, and an American Academy of Pediatrics networking event.
I am always happy to meet with medical students and residents, and was especially grateful for the opportunity to share my journey in advocacy AND politics with future pediatricians in Washington, DC.
It was also the annual American Academy of Pediatrics conference in DC, and an incredible time to meet up with former colleagues, partners in advocacy, and friends. Their Future. Our Vote. hosted a reception and we were thrilled to welcome Reps Caraveo, Schrier, and Swalwell.
Like all of you, we were devastated by the shooting in Lewiston, Maine and we refuse to feel helpless. We are calling on Congress to finally ban assault weapons. We launched a new ad in the wake of the Lewiston shooting urging Congress to act. Watch below.
Thank you for your support. We couldn’t do this without you.
