If you’ll indulge me for a second, I would love to take a quick walk down memory lane.

The year is 2011. It’s one-year out from Election Day, and the New York Times has just put out polling showing President Obama trailing significantly in battleground states. You may even remember the headline:

Flash forward to November 6, 2012. I think you may remember the day:

Now, present day: The New York Times just put out polling about President Biden. But we know from experience that more than a year out from the election, polls are not predictive.

The truth is: Winning reelection is going to be hard. We have our work cut out for us. The last election was won by less than 50,000 votes. You better believe it’ll be that close again.

Now, you could spend your Sunday worrying about polls, or you could spend your Sunday doing something that will win us the election.

I’m asking this team to put our heads down, ignore the noise, and focus on reelecting President Biden and Vice President Harris. What do you say?

There will always be doubters and naysayers. Folks counted President Biden out in 2019. They said he and Vice President Harris were doomed in 2020. And they even thought Democrats were done for in 2022.
