It's been another busy week in TX-23 and D.C. I am proud to serve our district in Congress. Each day, I work to address your concerns and protect our liberties. From helping you navigate federal casework to addressing your concerns, my team and I are always here to help. Please read below for some updates on my recent work representing you in Washington, D.C. and back home in TX-23.

Securing Resources for Our Law Enforcement

This week, I announced a new round of funding through the COPS grant program for several of our local and state law enforcement entities. These funds will help TX-23 communities combat crime and staff up police departments.

The City of San Antonio will receive over $6 million in new funding to hire 50 additional officers. San Antonio was one of three cities to receive the maximum amount of funding possible through the COPS grant program.

I proudly backed these initiatives and look forward to seeing safer communities as a result of these grants in action.

Standing up to Iran

The threat Iran continues to pose to national and international security is only growing. I will in no way tolerate or ignore the spread of terroristic actions that is spearheaded by the Iranian regime.

I cosponsored the Maximum Pressure Act, which imposes heavy sanctions on Iran and holds the Iranian government accountable for the attacks on Israel, nearly one month ago.

On the Road in TX-23

I spent some time this week at the Castroville Walmart to meet with store employees as we head into the holiday season.

This is the busiest and for many, most stressful time of year. I am thankful for their dedication and commitment to ensuring that our families are stocked up for family gatherings and festivities that are just around the corner.

Later on, I met with Medina County Commissioners Larry Sittre and Jessica Castiglione, along with Medina County Fire Chief, Clint Cooke.

We caught up on several issues, including brush-clearing efforts by the train tracks so that law enforcement can have a clear line of sight and continue their efforts to deter illegal immigration.
