John,
Good afternoon, and welcome to our
Weekend Update.
Speaker Mike Johnson is showing respect
for American taxpayers by offering offsets to his proposed aid package
for Israel that would provide urgent funding for military equipment
and other resources. We need to have pay-fors, accountability, and
transparency in aid packages like this, and that’s what the Speaker’s
bill provides. Supporting Israel is more important than hiring
additional IRS agents to harass American families and small
businesses. I joined Newsmax’s “Wake Up America” to discuss
the Speaker’s Israel aid bill. Click

This week, I attended a Fox News
town hall with Speaker Johnson. The Speaker spoke thoughtfully about
the Republican Conference’s priorities to benefit the American people
under his leadership. We will fight to promote fiscal responsibility,
secure the southern border, weed out the Biden family’s corruption,
restore our energy dominance, and support our ally, Israel. Click

This week, I joined Pat McDonald on
Choice 102, WAVR and 95.3 The Bridge Radio. During this in-depth
conversation, we covered a wide range of topics, including the recent
Speaker’s election, the situation in Israel, our work to support small
businesses, broadband expansion, addressing healthcare provider
shortages, energy production, and more! Click

The SEC's mission is to protect
investors, ensure fair markets, and facilitate capital formation. Yet,
the Volume-Based Pricing Rule may inadvertently hinder these
objectives by reducing U.S. exchanges' competitiveness and disrupting
market stability – thereby straying from the SEC's foundational
principles. Click

Committee.
Not only does the natural gas industry
support over 250K jobs in Pennsylvania, but it also contributes $24
billion to the commonwealth’s GDP – meaning Biden’s continued assault
on the natural gas industry is an assault on Pennsylvania’s workforce
and economy.
Republicans recognize that we must
embrace all of the above and all of the below solutions to achieve
energy independence and dominance, which is why I support H.R. 4821,
the Department of the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies
Appropriations Act, 2024. This legislation requires the resumption of
gas lease sales on previously restricted federal lands, and it also
prohibits several onerous regulations, such as the EPA’s Clean Power
Plan Rule, that would be detrimental to domestic energy production.
These provisions, among others in the bill, will benefit producers and
consumers nationwide, including in Pennsylvania’s Marcellus Shale. Click

House.
The House Oversight Committee has exposed
a money laundering scheme involving a Chinese Communist Party-linked
company (CEFC) and Joe Biden and his family. Owasco P.C., owned and
operated by Hunter Biden, received $400,000 from Hudson West III,
which is associated with CEFC. Hunter Biden then wired $150,000 to
Lion Hall Group – a company owned by James and Sara Biden. That same
day, Sara Biden withdrew $50,000 from Lion Hall Group and deposited it
into the couple’s personal account. A few days later, Sara Biden cut a
$40,000 check to Joe Biden for a “loan repayment.”
However, there is no record of any such
loan being made. And keep in mind, $40,000 is 10% of $400,000, and the
Oversight Committee has text messages from around the same time
saying, “10 held by H for the big guy?" — which former business
associates of Hunter’s testified was shorthand for 10% was being held
by Hunter for his father. The evidence that Joe Biden was involved in
his son’s pay-to-pay scheme continues to grow.
My good friend James Comer, Chairman of
the House Oversight Committee, released a video detailing how Biden
benefited, to the tune of $40,000, from his family’s shady business
dealings with CEFC – a Chinese Communist Party-linked company. I’m
grateful that we have the majority in the House enabling the Committee
to investigate this matter because the Department of Justice has
totally ignored it. Click

IN NEWS YOU WON’T HEAR IN THE
MAINSTREAM MEDIA: The cost of achieving the American Dream is
surging under Biden.
Joe Biden insists that “‘Bidenomics’ is
just another way of saying ‘restoring the American Dream.’” New
reporting shows that the opposite is true – Bidenomics is destroying
the American Dream for millions of people.
For many, owning a home is a key part of
that dream, but because of Bidenomics, it’s harder to buy a home now
than ever. The average 30-year fixed mortgage rate
recently hit
8 percent, the highest level since 2000. The
result? 99
percent of the country is considered unaffordable in
the housing market, as your dollar goes HALF
as far as it did just a few years ago.
What’s worse, Americans are in a weaker
position to save for a home because of the surging costs of
necessities. Since Biden took office, overall prices are
up 17.7
percent, food prices are up 20.6
percent, rent is up 17.3
percent, and electricity bills are up 26.6
percent. Almost half of
Americans have been forced to put saving money on pause
as credit
card debt hits record levels. The most significant financial
concern for Americans is no longer saving for retirement or buying a
home; it’s simply paying
monthly bills.
Under Biden, Houses are more
expensive, costs are up, and families are poorer. Bidenomics is
pricing out millions of people from having an opportunity to live the
American Dream.
Around the District:
This week, I joined community and
military leaders at Fort Indiantown Gap to cut the ribbon on the
base’s new access control point at the front gate. This project will
help improve the base's security and ensure the safety of the National
Guard personnel stationed there. Fort Indiantown Gap plays an
essential role for the National Guard as it was the busiest overall
training center in the country in 2015, 2016, 2018, 2020, 2021, and
2023. Thank you to Adjutant General Mark Schindler and Lieutenant
Colonel Gilbert “Dusty” Durand for the invitation to speak at such an
important event and for taking the time after the ribbon-cutting to
discuss The Gap’s priorities.
Trick or Treat: Shelley
and I want to thank the Lehman Township and all the Back
Mountain Regional Fire & EMS, Dallas PA volunteers, county
fair queens, and, of course, Brenda and Alan (aka Sasquatch) for
making it a great Halloween night for many families!
We are just a couple of short days
from Election Day! I would strongly encourage you to join me in voting
for our GOP statewide judicial candidates, Carolyn Carluccio, Maria
Battista, Harry Smail, and Megan Martin, to restore law and order in
the Keystone State! Additionally, we have countless county and local
elections taking place. We will be keeping our eyes on some important
county commissioner's races. Good luck to all of our GOP candidates,
and please GET OUT THE GOP VOTE!
We look forward to catching up with you next week. God Bless, and
see you soon,
Dan
