Hey,

Voter suppression reared its ugly head on Tuesday, forcing voters to wait hours before casting their ballots, setting a dangerous precedent for November. With one-in-ten eligible voters in the U.S. being immigrants, GOP legislatures have ramped up their efforts, passing unconstitutional voter i.d. laws and closing polling stations at colleges and universities.

In Texas, the last vote wasn’t cast until after 2 AM because of the long lines, 7 hours after they got in line.

This is after the GOP-led Texas legislature closed over 750 polling stations since 2012 in precincts where black and Latinx voters were the fastest growing demographic.

It’s racist voter suppression, plain and simple. Long wait times discourage those who have jobs, can’t afford child care, or simply don’t have time to spend a third of their day in line, driving down turnout. The GOP has already been caught numerous times suppressing minority communities’ votes in North Carolina, Texas, and so many other states, but that won’t stop before November.

Democrats are pushing back against the GOP’s efforts to discourage voters, but we need everyone with us. We’re up against the entire GOP-led, dark money-funded voter suppression machine -- we need to know now:

Are you worried about voter suppression in November?
YES  NO
