Here’s what we’re reading, watching, listening to, and writing about this week:

1. Reflection from TakeAction

2. The Fight Goes On

Senator Warren ran a sharp, people-centered, inspirational campaign. She opened national discussions and spoke truth to power on the debate stage. The misogyny was real. We hope Warren supporters take the time you need and when you’re ready, let’s go together. Senator Warren’s campaign wrap up is a must-read.   

3. Super Tuesday

Two articles to bookmark for the weekend: Latinx voters and Bernie’s campaign and a piece in the Guardian on the fact that Black voters are not a monolith.  

4. Abortion Rights

Earlier this week, the Supreme Court heard a case that could make accessing abortions all but impossible in states across the country. Abortion care is health care. Period. Read more.   

5. The Youth Vote

Jessica Cisneros – the Justice Democrat endorsed candidate running for Congress who we wrote about last week – fell just short of winning her primary. That doesn’t mean she’s going away. And the forces standing in the way of Medicare for All and the Green New Deal can’t last forever. Read more.

6. Climate Change

It probably shouldn’t come as a surprise that fossil fuel companies are planning to make money off of climate change. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t feel less gross. The author of this piece went to a private planning meeting and took notes to share with us. Read more.  

7. Teachers Strike

Educators in St. Paul hold the radical belief that every student in public school deserves to learn and thrive. They’re willing to go on strike to fight for their students, and we’ll be on the picket line alongside them. Read more.  

8. Unionize Your Workplace

“It doesn’t matter how cool our job is, how flexible it promises to be, or how much we dreamed of making it our career if we can’t survive on what it pays us, if we’re riddled with anxiety about covering medical bills, if we’re sleepless and scared and exhausted all the time.” A reader sent in this lovely reflection about millennials and Gen Zers and our embrace of unions.
