It's really important we reach these monthly fundraising goals. Throughout the year, challenges have persisted in our other revenue streams, like advertising. There has been an ongoing trend of decreased demand and pricing in advertising which is a challenge we’re addressing head-on.

All this means that grassroots donations from our readers and activists are our largest source of revenue to cover our operating expenses. However, over the last few months, we have seen a drop in donations and because of that, we have barely reached our fundraising goals—this is what keeps me up at night.
