Current Affairs wrote a profile of our race!

The piece lays out the case clearly: WA-06 has a populist history, and the memory of the New Deal is still strong here. We’ve been represented by Democrats for the past 55 years. But as the article states:

“[Derek] Kilmer is chair of the right-wing ‘New Democrat Coalition’—a deficit hawk ‘pro-growth’ group within Congress that backs, among other things, balanced budget measures like ‘[maintaining and strengthening] pay-as-you-go budget rules’ (aka keeping social benefits as impoverished as possible while never challenging our country’s bloated military spending). And yet Parson is running against him on one of the most ambitious, pro-labor platforms of any Congressional candidate, including Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, and a suite of other progressive proposals.”

People in our district are dying waiting in line for drug treatment. College students are eating parmesan packets to get by. Diabetics are going without insulin.

It is way past time we have a representative who represents the people, not corporate interests.

Corporate Kilmer runs Facebook ads calling himself a national leader on getting money out of politics, but he’s taken $3 million from corporate PACs.

Corporate Kilmer has taken $3 million in corporate money. I just need $3 from you, John. Can you donate $3 now, so we can keep expanding our ground game?

He even ran a poll asking: “Do you agree or disagree with this statement: Derek Kilmer is a corporate sellout and it’s time to let another Democrat lead.”

I think you know the answer.
