Celebrating Mrs. Bush and her uplifting work around the world
Mrs. Bush

Today, we're celebrating Mrs. Laura Bush's birthday! We’re inspired by Mrs. Bush’s continuous efforts to ensure young Americans are taught compassion and empathy and given the tools they need to become engaged citizens and changemakers. Mrs. Bush tirelessly defends human freedom around the world and stands firmly with the women and children of Afghanistan. Thank you, Mrs. Bush, for challenging us to be better conservators of our planet and being a bright light for our nation and world.

"We must prepare our children and grandchildren with the tools they need to be informed, engaged citizens who care about individual liberty and democracy. This is the task of parents, teachers, and anyone who touches the lives of young people today. And it’s our patriotic duty as Americans."

— Mrs. Laura Bush, Oct. 19, 2017
