Dear Democracy Dynamos,

Cowabunga!  With all thanks to the daylight savings spirits, we gain an extra hour on Sunday–and with three days until Election Day in 31 states, we have a lot of ways to use it. 😉

Here are some ideas about how to invest that extra hour:

• Rustle up a Vote Squad: If you have polls open Sunday, go vote and take a big group with you. Or meet them there to vote and then get coffee or Sunday Brunch. If there’s no Sunday voting, contact folks and make a plan to do the same on election day.

• Remind Friends and Family: Take the extra hour to contact friends and family to remind them to vote–and to let them know why you think their votes are important. Person to Person GOTV is the most effective there is. Whether by email, text, call, or a visit, people listen to people they know!

• Activate Voters Nationwide! Check-in with The Union Action Center  for the latest GOTV opportunities, including canvassing and driving voters to the polls if there are elections near you, as well as phone/text banking and ballot curing shifts you can do from anywhere.

In the quest to defend our democracy, every election is crucial–and a lot of elections across the country are close, often within the margin of error. These are elections that can be won or lost by a handful of votes–even one. So the voters you push to the polls can be the ones who deliver the decisive votes!

So use that hour….and thank goodness cell phones auto correct for the time change. But don’t forget the manual clocks–that extra hour of GOTV is immensely valuable.
