This is a campaign email, not a doctoral dissertation, so I’ll spare you the long-winded diatribe and just give you a quick run-down of my thoughts on the new House Speaker.

Mike Johnson is, unfortunately, a “normal” Republican in today’s GOP.

By “normal,” I mean that he wants to criminalize abortion, end gay marriage, cut Medicare and end Social Security, revoke protections for the LGBTQ+ community, support Putin and his dictatorial, murderous regime, and overturn a legitimate election.

Oh – and he also doesn’t believe in or understand science.

Mike Johnson’s fringe ideology is dangerous to women, to the LGBTQ+ community, to people of color, to our climate, to seniors, to the international balance of power, and to democracy itself – and that’s exactly why the GOP loves him.

If we needed one more reason to flip the House and evict this delusional, dangerous party from leadership, that reason is named Mike Johnson.

So let’s remember the wise words of Aerosmith: “Don’t get mad, get even.”
