John,
This week, the Israeli military bombed Gaza’s largest refugee camp multiple times. Then they bombed at least four schools sheltering displaced people from the refugee camp, according to the UN.
These are clear war crimes, but the political leaders supporting this genocide must not see Palestinians as human beings. They are allowing it to happen by not calling for a ceasefire.
Right now, Arab Americans and Muslim Americans feel unseen and betrayed by our own government, as Congress and President Biden’s administration refuse to acknowledge or value Palestinian lives. It's chipping away at my soul, so I can only imagine how others are feeling.
Across the country, thousands of Jewish Americans are standing up and saying not in our names, but are met with cruelty. Anti-war advocates are speaking up, but are being dismissed by President Biden.
This call for a ceasefire is beyond 18 members of Congress or an organization, it is a movement that keeps getting stronger. The vast majority of Americans now want a ceasefire—including 80% of Democratic voters and a clear majority of Republican voters.
Please sign now to tell President Biden and Congress: We demand a ceasefire now! Stop the siege on Gaza, and stop funding Israel’s military as it slaughters Palestinians!
Palestinian Americans in Michigan and across the country have lost 20 or more family members in the past few weeks of bombing.
We’re watching video after video of dead children and parents under rubble, but the President we helped elect has disputed Palestinian death tolls. The American people will remember.
To the President of the U.S.: The American people are not with you on this one. You need to join with the majority of Americans and support a ceasefire now to save as many lives as possible.
Please sign and share now to demand President Biden and the U.S. Congress stop the genocide and support a ceasefire now.
In solidarity,
Rashida
