Hi John,

Thank you.

It is three weeks since New Zealand voted for change, and it has been a real privilege to be chosen as our next local MP. I look forward to serving you all.

The final results came in yesterday, and they've confirmed the result across the country, and a very strong 6271 majority in this electorate. That's an amazing result, thanks to so many people who gave time, energy, money, and ultimately their vote to help us win.

Thank you.

What have I done lately?

The last three weeks have been jam-packed with induction training, but I've made a real effort to keep driving back to our region to attend a number of events:

- Horowhenua-Kāpitii business awards,

- Local markets

- Rugby at the Ōtaki RSA

- Coast Access Radio

- Local business visits

- Work Ready Kāpiti Awards

- Seniors' day in Coastlands

- Toi Mahara opening weekend in Waikanae (it was amazing!!)

- Foxton Community Board

- Kāpiti Business Breakfast

- Waiopehu College Prizegiving

- ... and a local working bee this morning too!

I've also been on the search for space to base local offices throughout the electorate, and on Monday I'll be advertising for people to join my local team.

People matter to me, so I'm advertising a range of jobs with some flexibility in hours, and the ability to work around school hours and holidays. I want the best people, not just those whose lives fit into a tidy 9-5 business day. I'll share links here <[link removed]> if you're keen.

What next?

I'm guided by Parliamentary Services processes and time-lines, but I hope the team will join me in the New Year with offices open in Levin and Paraparaumu soon after.

We're still waiting to hear when we'll be sworn in as MPs, but it's likely to be in a couple of weeks. Then we'll be working non-stop through until Christmas.

I will be taking a couple of weeks off over Christmas where I intend to hideaway and have some well-earned family time and give them the attention they deserve.

How can you stay connected?

I'll send regular email updates out over the next three years, and you're on the list already. If anyone else you know would like to get them, they can subscribe here. <[link removed]>

Secondly, you may not have considered it before, but please can you join the National Party? We are a grass-roots party and the best way to steer our policy, and the direction of the country, is to join us. It only costs $10, and you'll get the chance to come along and join us at a range of member events, with myself and other visiting MPs. Please join us.

Once again, thank you for your loyal support over the last few years, and for choosing me to represent us all.

Sincere thanks,
