** WHO Experimenting on African Children Without Informed Consent

The World Health Organization (WHO) is sponsoring an experimental study of a controversial malaria vaccine among African children without obtaining informed consent from parents. Data from prior clinical trials of the vaccine have shown the vaccine to be associated with an increased risk of clinical malaria after four years, a tenfold increased risk of meningitis, an increased risk of cerebral malaria (in which the parasitic organisms block the flow of blood to the brain, causing swelling and potential brain damage), and an increased risk of death that was disproportionately higher for female children.

Plus, the WHO intends to make a decision based on this trial about whether to recommend the vaccine for routine use throughout sub-Saharan Africa after just twenty-four months of study, which is not enough time to determine the vaccine’s effect on mortality.

** A Six-in-One Vaccine Associated with Sudden Infant Death…

Vaxelis is estimated to become available in the U.S. sometime in 2020. This hexavalent vaccine combines five components: diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio and Haemophilus influenzae type b along with Merck’s genetically engineered HepB vaccine, Recombivax. The latter contains a problematic proprietary aluminum adjuvant possibly linked to serious autoimmune conditions.

A number of European studies have identified concerns about hexavalent vaccination and SIDS, in particular. In one Italian study, researchers found that in 12% of the cases, the SIDS deaths occurred within one to seven days of hexavalent vaccination. The authors deemed it plausible that “vaccine components could have a direct role in sparking off a lethal outcome in vulnerable babies.”

** No CDC Studies to Support DTaP, Hep B, HiB, PCV13 and IPV Vaccines Don't Cause Autism
------------------------------------------------------------

Despite the American public being reassured time and time again by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and in mainstream media that vaccines don’t cause autism, a lawsuit filed against the CDC by the Informed Consent Action Network (ICAN) proves that the CDC never studied whether the vaccines DTaP, Hepatitis B, HiB, PCV13 and IPV cause autism.

The agency could only produce a total of 20 studies looking at vaccinations as a causative agent in the development of autism: 18 on MMR and/or Thimerosal (which ICAN didn’t ask about) and 2 other irrelevant studies. Thus, the CDC failed to produce a single study to support that DTaP vaccines, or any of the vaccines, do not cause autism.

** Legislative Update
------------------------------------------------------------

Colorado - Proposed legislation would give the CO Department of Public Health and the Environment the right to add any vaccines to the state schedule in the future with no legislative oversight. The legislation combines philosophical and religious exemptions under a new term "non-medical exemptions” and would require parents who choose to forego even one vaccine to either get a medical provider to sign off on a form for a non-medical exemption or go through an online re-education course on vaccines. It passed the Senate last week and is now in the House Health Committee with hearings expected as early as next week. Rallies and testimony are planned.

Connecticut - Legislation to take away all religious exemptions from K-12 and Higher Ed was passed with two amendments. It has moved on to the Legislative Commissioners Office (LCO) that will reconcile it with CT constitution. The “Grandfather” amendment stated that any children who have an exemption now and any kids born to that family would keep their religious exemption. Another amendment expanded medical exemptions to include auto-immune conditions, like allergies. The ruling on the amended version of the bill from LCO is expected in the next two weeks.

Illinois - A “Resolution to Restore Vaccine Maker Liability”, was heard by the Senate Civil Procedure Subcommittee and Judiciary Civil Committee. It will now proceed to the House. Legislation mandating HPV vaccines for all sixth graders was scheduled to have a hearing this week but was reassigned. The new committee can schedule the hearing with only one hour prior notice. Legislation to remove religious exemptions hasn’t moved since it was filed, read, and referred to the Senate Assignments Committee.

Maine - The “People’s Veto” referendum was defeated this week. It aimed to undo the law that ends nonmedical vaccine opt-outs by September 2021 for students at public and private schools and universities, including nursery schools, and for health care facility employees.

New York - New York faces legislation to increase vaccine uptake, lower the age of consent to vaccination, mandate HPV vaccines and expand medical exemptions. The legislative session ends in early June.

Virginia - This week, legislation to mandate the entire CDC’s ACIP-recommended schedule, less annual flu shots, was passed by the Senate, sent to the house where it was passed despite contradictory amendments that need revision. It was sent to the Governor for revision. The amended version would require VA children to receive a chickenpox booster and four new vaccines – Hepatitis A, Meningococcal, HPV for boys, and Rotavirus. Oversight for additions to the CDC/ACIP schedule was placed with the Virginia Department of Health instead of with legislators. VA retains medical and religious exemptions to vaccination. The legislative session ends today, Friday, March 6.

Wisconsin - This week, the Committee on Constitution and Ethics held a public hearing on rule changes authored by the Wisconsin DHS. Rule changes included: the definition of a “substantial outbreak” to include chicken pox and mumps, mandating meningitis vaccine for 7th graders and booster for high school seniors, and requiring a doctor's confirmation of Chickenpox vs. self-reporting. The committee opposed the proposed DHS rules. The rules now move to the Joint Committee for Review of Administrative Rules.


** Dr. Jonas Salk Wanted Liability, Not NVICP Special Masters, to Decide the Fate of Unsafe Vaccines

In 1984 Dr. Jonas Salk testified that the live polio vaccine should be excluded from the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act (NVICP), and to allow to allow the market and liability lawsuits to determine the success or failure of the live polio vaccine. He understood that liability is an absolutely necessary force to incentivize vaccine manufacturers to compete on a platform a safety instead of profitability.

Unfortunately Dr. Salk’s words echo in time as a warning unheeded.

** HPV Vaccine Linked to Autoimmune Events

Since Gardasil was approved in 2006 there have been reports linking the vaccine to autoimmune illnesses. In order to see if there was an association, scientists used an epidemiological assessment of the vaccine adverse event reporting system database (VAERS) looking for adverse events with Gardasil from 2006 to 2014. They found significant increases of serious autoimmune adverse events/ outcomes such as gastroenteritis, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, central nervous system demyelinating conditions like multiple sclerosis, ovarian damage, and irritable bowel syndrome in women and girls who were given the Gardasil vaccine.

** Systematic Review of Fluoride Exposure and Neuro-developmental and Cognitive Health Effects
------------------------------------------------------------

The National Academy of Science’s review committee has released its report on the National Toxicology Program's (NTP) report that said fluoride was a presumed developmental neurotoxicant.

It is disappointing, but not surprising considering National Academies' conclusions from the past, that the the review committee said “The National Academies report does not find that NTP has adequately supported its conclusion that 'fluoride is presumed to be a cognitive neurodevelopmental hazard to humans.' The committee emphasized its finding does not mean that the NTP’s conclusion is incorrect; rather, further analysis or reanalysis is needed to support conclusions in the monograph.
