It's up to us to stop this budget bill in its tracks.

DEVELOPING … in a vote of 213-203, House Republicans continued their assault on the environment this week by pushing through an Interior-EPA appropriations bill that eviscerates environmental protections and decimates historic climate progress in the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act.

There’s no way we can let this budget become law — it would be a disaster for the environment, our communities, and our planet. LCV is on Capitol Hill right now to defend against these attacks, but we need to do more, and resources are running low.

Can the League of Conservation Voters count on you to renew your membership today? Even $5 would make a big difference. Please chip in now >>

Honestly, there are so many outrageous attacks on our environment in this one bill that we can’t even name them all. This bill:
  • Proposes a draconian 40% cut to the Environmental Protection Agency, down to levels not seen in more than 30 years;
  • Completely zeroes out spending on environmental justice programs;
  • Slashes basic clean air and water protections and environmental cleanup programs;
  • Rescinds funding for critical Inflation Reduction Act programs like the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund;
  • Mandates fossil fuel leases; and
  • Dooms imperiled species to extinction.
This legislation is as extreme as it is dangerous for our environment — and it’s up to us to stop it.

I’m hoping we can count you in, Friend. Please renew your membership to LCV today. Even $5 will help.

It’s moments like these that truly make or break our movement. I’m so grateful to know that LCV members like you are standing with us. Thanks for being part of LCV, Friend.

Onward,

Gene Karpinski
President
