Improving Internet Access
|
Ensuring our communities have reliable internet access is critical in supporting Indiana's economy and quality of life. This is why the General Assembly has taken several steps to help ensure we are doing all we can to bring high-speed internet access to as many Hoosiers as possible.
Created by the General Assembly in 2019, the Next Level Connections program has invested more than $248 million to help bring broadband to over 68,000 homes and businesses across the state.
Home or business owners in an area without broadband access can notify the state and request access through the Next Level Connections portal. To learn more, click here.
Finally, reporting your internet speed can help ensure the state has accurate broadband data, can better identify underserved areas and obtain additional funding for broadband expansion and upgrades. To conduct a speed test, click here.
Similar to electricity in the mid-20th century, broadband access is an infrastructure necessity for Hoosiers in every corner of the state, and as your state senator, I'll continue to prioritize broadband expansion throughout Indiana.
