Can I tell you a story, folks?
I was born and grew up in a working-class family in Cheverly, Maryland. My mother was a public school teacher and my father was a salesman — both taught me what it means to work hard and help others. So when we fell on hard times and my dad lost our farm to bankruptcy, I vowed to do everything I could to provide for my family.
Who I am and where I come from is why I will always stand up for working families.
That’s why I decided to run for Congress in 2018 and dedicate my career to being a champion for strengthening our middle class, creating good-paying jobs, and fighting for increased access to mental healthcare.
Whether it was providing partner benefits and college tuition to employees at my company or fighting for issues that mattered most to you during my three years in Congress — I've always centered people in my work. But I know this is only the start of my work, and that's why I'm running for the U.S. Senate.
As a kid, I never could have dreamt of the opportunity to run for Senate representing my home state.
I've brought people together by speaking with Marylanders and representing the issues you care about. I'll need your support to win this seat and protect our Democratic Senate Majority. So please, can you tell me what issues matter most to you?
Thanks,
David Trone
