Governor DeWine attends Security Threat Group Conference

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Director Annette Chambers-Smith, of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, attended?the Ohio Corrections and Law Enforcement Security Threat Group Conference. At the event, law enforcement and corrections officers from across the state learned the latest strategies to combat gang violence, domestic terrorism, and other security threats.

Governor DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted announced [ [link removed] ] the approval of assistance for three projects set to create 2,247 new jobs and retain 63 jobs statewide.??

During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in more than $152 million in new payroll and spur more than $482 million in investments across Ohio.?

Husted announces Broadband Grant in Darke County

Lt. Governor Husted and Ohio Department of Development Director Lydia Mihalik joined local officials to announce [ [link removed] ] state support for a broadband expansion project that will improve internet access for more than 90% of residents in Darke County.

BroadbandOhio [ [link removed] ], a division of the Department of Development, awarded $500,000 in grant funding to assist the Darke County Board of Commissioners in its partnership with Agile Network Builders LLC to expand a hybrid fiber wireless network to fixed tower sites throughout the county ? providing greater coverage to 20,000 households, or roughly 50,000 residents.

"Broadband expansion is now more critical than ever," said Lt. Governor Husted. "The connectivity enabled by this funding will not only offer the residents of Darke County increased opportunities to engage with the modern world, but it will also empower local businesses to broaden their reach and navigate the ever-evolving marketplace more successfully."

Governor DeWine and Lt. Governor Husted announced [ [link removed] ] that additional funding is now available to help transform Ohio?s communities into vibrant hubs of opportunity through the demolition of blighted buildings.

A new round of the Ohio Building Demolition and Site Revitalization Program will provide $150 million in grants to raze dilapidated commercial and residential buildings and revitalize surrounding properties throughout the state.

?Blighted buildings have no place in our vision for Ohio?s future,? said Governor DeWine. ?These dilapidated eyesores continue to stand in the way of progress, and by helping local communities take them down, we can open these areas up for new economic development."

"Although Ohio's economy is on the rise, numerous communities are unable to fully participate in this growth due to the presence of legacy properties that require demolition and preparation for new development," explained Lt. Governor Husted. "These grants provide the essential financing for redevelopment, paving the way for a new era of prosperity.?

Second Lady Husted gives remarks at the Dayton Correctional Insititution

Second Lady Tina Husted provided remarks at the Dayton Correctional Institution, which honored more than 130 students graduating with degrees and certificates through the Sinclair Community College Prison Education Program.

Lt. Governor Husted, who serves as director of the Governor?s Office of Workforce Transformation, announced [ [link removed] ] that the application period for the Individual Microcredential Assistance Program (IMAP) opened for training providers on Nov. 1, and will run through the end of the month.?The program also expanded to now serve all Ohioans, not just those who are low-income, partially unemployed, or totally unemployed.

?As more and more businesses move to or expand in our state, we must continue to create opportunities for Ohioans to earn the skills they need and growing and improving programs like IMAP help us do that,? said Lt. Governor Husted. ?I look forward to seeing how the expansion of the program will positively impact our workforce and Ohioans as they earn the skills businesses need for free through IMAP.?

Husted speaks at Charter Broadband Investment Announcement in Columbus

Lt. Governor Husted provided remarks at the Ohio Chamber of Commerce in Columbus, where Charter Communications announced a nearly $1.25 billion investment in Ohio through its companywide network evolution project and broadband expansion commitments. The investment will enable the delivery of symmetrical gigabit and multi-gigabit speeds across the state, rural broadband expansion programs in Ohio, and other customer-benefiting projects.

Governor DeWine, Lt. Governor Husted, and Ohio Department of Development Director Mihalik announced [ [link removed] ] grant awards of more than $2.4 million for arts organizations in Ohio.?

The funding is part of the third round of the?Ohio Arts Economic Relief Grant Program.??A total of 16 arts organizations in 12 counties are receiving funding.

Governor DeWine and Lt. Governor Husted have designated November as Adoption Recognition and Recruitment Month in Ohio [ [link removed] ] and are encouraging Ohioans to consider becoming adoptive families.

?More than 3,000 youth in Ohio are waiting to be adopted,? said Governor DeWine. ?If you have ever thought about opening your home to a child in need, now is the time to explore what it takes to be an adoptive family.?

?Adopting a child is not only an act of love but also a promise of hope, a chance to provide a nurturing home, and a lifelong journey of building a family that transcends bloodlines,? said Lt. Governor Husted. ?As a child who was adopted at a very young age, I know this firsthand.?

Governor DeWine visits Smart Home to See How Technology Can Help Increase Independence

Governor DeWine toured the New Avenues to Independence?s Valleybrook Smart Home. Residents led a tour of the home and showed how technology increases independence for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Schwenk, Governor Mike DeWine has ordered [ [link removed] ] the flags of the United States of America and the state of Ohio to be?flown at half-staff upon all public buildings and grounds throughout Lake County on the day of his funeral, Nov. 4.?

Husted speaks at Cargill - Sidney Plant Grand Reopening

Lt. Governor Husted provided remarks at the official expansion celebration for Cargill?s Soybean Processing Plant in Sidney.

This will be Cargill?s largest soybean processing facility in North America and will employ more than 275 people. The expanded and modernized plant will help local farmers meet the growing demand for soy products across food, feed, and renewable fuel markets around the world and provide a better user experience, including faster unloading times and a nearly doubled crush capacity.

Governor DeWine and Ohio Department of Development Director Mihalik announced [ [link removed] ] the launch of a new grant program that will improve energy efficiency and save money?in some of Ohio?s most vulnerable communities.

A total of $3.1 million in grant funding is now available?as part of the new Brightening Ohio Communities Grant Program. Administered by the Ohio Department of Development, the program?will help lower-income communities pay for?energy-efficient streetlights,?perimeter lighting, and lighting in municipal-owned parking lots.

?This program is not just about new streetlights; it?s about creating a brighter and safer future for all Ohioans,? said Governor DeWine. ?Every watt saved translates to real money that our local leaders can use to reinvest in other essential services for our communities. By improving energy efficiency at the street level, we?re making a long-term, sustainable contribution to neighborhoods."

Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) Director Matt Damschroder? joins Governor DeWine, Lt. Governor Husted, and Maj. Gen. Governor DeWine, Lt. Governor Husted Announce Career Tech Construction Grant Awards, New Equipment Funding Opportunity

Governor DeWine and Lt. Governor Husted held a press conference at Kettering Fairmont High School to announce the grant recipients of the Career Technical Construction Program and the opening of the application period for the Career Technical Education Equipment Grant Program.

Governor DeWine and Lt. Governor Husted announced [ [link removed] ] that 35 Ohio schools will receive grants totaling almost $200 million through the Career Technical Construction Program, helping expand education and training facilities to serve more students. At the event, they also announced the launch of the first application period for the Career Technical Education Equipment Grant Program, which opened today.

?Ohio is on the rise. We have 54 companies coming to or expanding their operations into Ohio, creating thousands of jobs,? said Governor DeWine. ?We need all hands on deck to support this economic growth, and that?s why it?s vital that we help our career centers expand.?

?With this announcement, not only are we creating more opportunities for all Ohio students to earn a career-technical education, but we are also giving them more opportunities to be career-ready when they graduate,? said Lt. Governor Husted. ?Having access to high-quality equipment that Ohio businesses use will help students swiftly transition from classroom to workplace.?
