A Nuclear Iran is Unacceptable

As Iranian-backed Hamas terrorists continue to wage an unprovoked and barbaric war against our friend and ally Israel, it's more vital than ever the United States demonstrates strength — not weakness — towards Iran.

Iran is the leading state sponsor of terrorism and poses a threat to our partners and allies and to U.S. national security interests.

This week, I was proud to stand with Congress in supporting multiple bills to hold Iran accountable and stand by our ally Israel as it works to defeat terrorist threats from Iran backed groups and proxies including Hamas and Hezbollah.

Congress also overwhelmingly passed my resolution, H.Res.559, which makes a clear, simple, and vital statement – that it is the official policy of the United States that a nuclear Iran is unequivocally unacceptable.

Condemning Antisemitism on College Campuses

Like millions of other brave Americans, my father fought in World War II against the Nazis. After the Allies won that war, we made a promise of ‘Never Again.’ Yet in the wake of the attacks against Israel, we’ve seen an appalling rise in antisemitic and pro-Hamas behavior on college campuses across our nation.

This week, I joined several of my colleagues in sending letters to the administrations of the top five U.S. universities, expressing my profound disappointment for their half-hearted, hypocritical, and absent responses to the outrageous actions by student organizers and certain professors.

If these institutions truly value empathy and inclusion as they claim, they will unequivocally condemn this behavior and take immediate action to ensure the safety of all students.

Bring Texan Mark Swidan Home

Mark Swidan, a Texan, has been wrongfully detained for over a decade in a Chinese prison for a crime he didn't even commit. Now he’s on death row, and his health is failing.

I want to send a very direct message to the White House: President Biden MUST make clear to CCP Chairman Xi that it's time for Texan Mark Swidan to come home. If President Biden is going to meet with Chairman Xi, I urge him, for once, to get something meaningful out of it.

When Chairman Xi flies to the U.S. for this meeting, Mark should be on that plane with him.

I spoke more about this with NewsNation's "Elizabeth Vargas Reports" below.

Supporting Our First Responders

Under the Biden administration’s failed open-border policies, the southwest border has faced an unsustainable increase in migrant encounters. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents encountered over 269,000 migrants in September alone, bringing the fiscal year’s total to 2.4 million — the highest number on record.

This week, I sent a bipartisan letter to House Appropriations Committee leadership requesting any upcoming aid packages include funding to support first responders in communities impacted by the migrant crisis.

"We have to get [the border] under control, because it's way out of control. ... We need to stop the magnet, which is political asylum, and go back to the policies that worked, which was Remain in Mexico."

McCaul on Fox News' "Your World"

"If we can’t deal with the political asylum issue, which is the real magnet here, then we’re really failing to address the problem. … I think this [aid bill is Republicans’] best opportunity to get something on the border that could be a real gamechanger."

McCaul on Fox Business' "Mornings with Maria"

"[Funding for the United States border] has to be in this [appropriations] package. .. I want to see Remain in Mexico returned as an official policy in the United States ..."
