AUGUST 7, 2019: At the end of July, 114 of the nation’s 870 federal judgeships remained vacant. That works out to a total of 13.1%, down slightly from 13.6% at the end of June.[1] ([link removed])

Over the past month, 21 judges have been confirmed. There were also two new nominations and seven new vacancies.

Since taking office in January 2017, President Trump ([link removed]) has nominated 193 individuals to Article III positions. The Senate has confirmed 144 of President Trump’s judicial nominees—two Supreme Court justices, 43 U.S. appeals court judges, and 99 U.S. district court judges.
