Hi
Friend,
There is a small group of powerful
people around Oakland who want nothing more than to turn our public
education institutions into a profitable commodity. The charter school
project in Oakland does just that, and we cannot pull any punches in
protecting our schools from billionaires. We
only have four days – rush $27 to our chapter to
fight back and help School Board candidate Sasha Ritzie-Hernandez get
elected.
Here’s the rundown: We have three
labor-backed Oakland School Board members, three who stand in their
way, and one vacancy with an election in four
days.

Democratic socialist Sasha
Ritzie-Hernandez is running for that very vacant seat in District 5,
and our organizers have campaigned every week for two months to get her elected. Elections are in four
days, and we need all the resources we can get to win a historic labor
majority and elect more women to lead Oakland’s School
Board.
Can
I count on you to give $27 to our chapter to take our School Board
back from the billionaires? >>
Here’s the thing, Friend – we have
a real shot at getting Sasha elected. This is a critical step in our
chapter’s Oakland Schools for All priority campaign to return Oakland
schools to the communities
they belong to.
Even though the news isn’t blasting it, this is a
historic moment for Oakland that will shape our schools for years to
come.
Pitch
in $27 to East Bay DSA’s campaign to get Sasha elected to take schools
out of the hands of sad billionaires and give them back to teachers,
parents, and students.
Solidarity, East Bay DSA
