Providing Aid to Israel While Defunding the IRS 

In a 226-196 vote, the House of Representatives passed legislation that provides $14.3 billion in military assistance to Israel and pays for it by slashing Democrats’ 2022 funding increase to the IRS. 

The military assistance to Israel includes $4 billion for the country’s "Iron Dome" anti-missile defense systems and provides $200 million for evacuations of American citizens. It additionally grants $4.4 billion to replenish Pentagon stockpiles of American weapons sent to Israel.

I’m grateful that Speaker Johnson is fighting to offset the cost of this aid package to Israel. No matter the importance, our current level of national debt requires that Congress balance the costs for any new, unexpected expenses. And Democrats’ unnecessary expansion of the IRS is a good place to start. The legislation cuts $14.3 billion from the lofty $80 billion package provided in Democrats’ inaptly named Inflation Reduction Act in 2022.

This funding has further emboldened the IRS and has helped facilitate its agents to target innocent middle-class Americans. The IRS has also retaliated against whistleblowers who oversaw Hunter Biden’s tax crimes and has stonewalled Congress’s investigations. Simply put, the agency deserves to be defunded for its overt weaponization and politicization in recent years. 

This legislation will now head to the Senate. I will continue to stand with Israel and hold the IRS more accountable. Check out my office’s official Israel resource graphic below. 

House Oversight and Accountability Committee Activity

The House Oversight & Accountability Committee unveiled new information relating to the Biden family’s influence peddling schemes, including a direct link between Biden family foreign business deals and money padding Joe’s pockets.

On September 3, 2017, Joe received a $40,000 check from his brother and sister-in-law, James and Sara Biden’s, personal checking account for a “loan repayment.” But the money trail leads directly back to a Hunter Biden deal with a Chinese company, threats from Hunter for not receiving the funds on time, and proof that Hunter intended to hold 10 percent of the deal for “The Big Guy”, Joe Biden. 

In July 2017, Hunter Biden demanded his half of a $10 million “investment”  from a Chinese Communist Party (CCP) related associate, claiming that his father, Joe, was in the room with him while making his demands. After receiving his $5 million, Hunter transferred $400,000 to his own business account, $150,000 of which was sent to James and Sara Biden’s business account. James and Sara then transferred $50,000 to their personal account and cut a check to Joe for $40,000. Bank records also confirmed the original $5 million was the only source of funds flowing through any of these bank accounts at the time, linking Joe’s $40,000 payment directly back to the Chinese funds.   

The House Oversight & Accountability Committee has collected overwhelming evidence on Joe Biden and his family’s influence peddling schemes. From what I've seen, Joe Biden has committed several high crimes and misdemeanors. He deserves to be impeached and removed from public office. 

The committee will continue to hold Joe Biden and his family accountable and ensure maximum oversight is conducted.

Passing Annual Appropriations Bill Related to National Resources and Federal Lands

With the passage of the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act earlier today, House Republicans have now passed 6 of 12 government funding bills.

I was pleased to support this bill, which included a $2 billion cut from the Environmental Protection Agency while prioritizing funding for programs that support domestic energy production, wildfire prevention and suppression activities on federal land. It also includes policy riders to block Biden efforts to infringe on landowners’ rights. In total, the bill cuts funding to agencies below the Fiscal Year 19 level, ensuring that the resources provided will be utilized on core agency functions.

This year’s Halloween cost Americans more than ever. The Biden Administration's unchecked spending policies have caused inflation to soar.
