Saying Connected

While the changing temperatures seem confused on whether it's still winter or inching toward spring, one thing is for sure -- it's definitely Lincoln Day Dinner season in Indiana. So far this year, I've had the honor of personally attending Lincoln Days in Washington Township, Vanderburgh County and Pike Township (many more to come), while our team at state party will be represented at every single event.

I absolutely love this time of year -- getting on the road, talking with the Hoosier Republicans, and all-around staying connected. I also love it because it's an opportunity for me to honor some of our hardest-working Hoosier Republicans. While at the Pike Township Lincoln Day Dinner last week, I was honored to present Monica Kozlowski, president of the Indiana Federation of Republican Women, with the Chairman's Award for her work growing our party.

And while Lincoln Day Dinners are a great way for us to stay connected, this week I also launched another new, excited method -- Facebook. If you haven't yet, I'd be honored if you would "like" my new page on Facebook ([link removed][UNIQID]) so that we can continue to stay in touch.

Whether it's on Facebook ([link removed][UNIQID]) or at an upcoming Lincoln Day Dinner (find yours here ([link removed][UNIQID]) ), I hope to see you soon!

Governor Holcomb's Week That Was

Keeping Hoosiers Safe: Coronavirus

Today, Governor Eric Holcomb declared a public health emergency as Indiana has its first presumptive positive case of the coronavirus. The individual is in isolation after being tested last night, and the risk to the general public remains low.

This follows Governor Holcomb briefing cabinet members and agency directors on Indiana's pandemic response control earlier this week.

Given the global spread of the coronavirus, it was always a question of not if, but when a case of the coronavirus would come to Indiana. To help protect yourself from the coronavirus and other respiratory illnesses (like the flu), follow these steps:
* Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
* Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
* Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
* Stay home when you are sick.
* Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
* Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

Creating More Manufacturing Jobs for Hoosiers

Thanks to Governor Holcomb and strong Republican leadership, Indiana is one of the most business-friendly states in the Midwest and the nation! That's why Fiat Chrysler picked Indiana to diversify its Kokomo manufacturing operations with an investment of nearly $400 million to expand and retool its Indiana Transmission Plant II for production of a new engine. This means more great advanced manufacturing jobs for Hoosiers! Take a look at some of the reasons why Fiat Chrysler is expanding its operations in Indiana:
* No. 1 in the Midwest for business
* No. 5 nationally for business
* No. 1 for government efficiency
* No. 3 for best business regulatory environment
* No. 2 most affordable state

Governor Holcomb is working hard to bring more jobs to Hoosiers throughout the state, and the work he has done to position Indiana on national and global stage is working! Governor Holcomb is dedicated to creating a better Indiana for all Hoosiers and to continue Putting People First.
