"Epic Driving Education LLC suspended for alleged violations"

*DEARBORN, Mich*. - The Michigan Department of State (MDOS) has suspended a Wayne County driver education provider?s authorization to operate for alleged violations of the Driver Education Provider and Instructor Act. The violations were discovered during an investigation by MDOS staff following a consumer complaint.

Epic Driving Education LLC, owned by Ameer Abusalah and located at 5 Berwick Lane in Dearborn, has been summarily suspended, effective Nov. 1, 2023. The 6,643 violations discovered during the investigation include, but are not limited to:

* failure to provide training records, contracts, and knowledge tests
* failing to verify that students enrolled in a course meet physical and mental requirements for licensure
* failing to ensure students successfully passed a knowledge test prior to issuing a Certificate of Completion
* misrepresenting the quantity and quality of instruction provided for a driver education certificate and/or driver license

The violations date from 2021 to 2023, a period when hundreds of driver education students attended Abusalah?s ?Epic Driving School? in Dearborn.

MDOS has suspended the authorization for Abusalah to operate as an instructor and provider and the department is taking steps to revoke the authorization.

Parents whose children attended Epic Driving School between 2021 and 2023 are encouraged to contact MDOS at Michigan.gov/DriverEdComplaint [ [link removed] ] to determine if their certificates of completion or driver?s licenses are still valid due to these violations by the provider. The Department of State cannot issue certificates of completion to students who have participated in the courses.

If unable to obtain a refund from the bank or credit card company, consumers may choose to file a claim with the Surety Bond held by Epic Driving Education LLC.
