Dear Constituent,
Yesterday, I hosted my annual Faith Leaders Luncheon Discussion to provide a unique opportunity to foster a sense of community, share ideas, and build connections with faith leaders from all denominations in Maryland's 7th Congressional District.
This is an event that means so very much to me, personally, because I believe that all I have is my faith – and if I don't have my faith, I don't have anything. Yesterday’s assembly, at the Cylburn Arboretum, was a coming together of leaders across communities that are interceding every day with people who are in prayer. So, to have this assembly of these men and women, in a setting like this, is extraordinarily beneficial to allow me to best represent all of us in the Congress.
I called this gathering of faith leaders at a time when the issue of faith, healing, and bringing communities together is critical. And to this point, I veered out into the audience yesterday and saw both rabbis and imams sitting side by side in healthy, engaged conversation. With this moment, I recognized both the power of this sort of assembly, and confirmation as to why this was so very essential.
The perspective and the insights shared by attendees was truly invaluable, and I was proud to provide updates on both my legislative and constituent services work in the 118th Congress to affirm that as your representative, I have not shied away from putting People Over Politics.
To those of you who were not in attendance, I wanted to provide this update, and to those who were in attendance, thank you for making this year's Faith Leaders Luncheon Discussion truly special, and I look forward to continuing the dialogues begun yesterday in order to best serve our shared Congressional District.
