“According to UN projections, at the current rate of progress, it will take 286 years for the world to achieve gender equality,” said Sarah Craven, director of the North American office of UNFPA. “Policymakers must shift their mindsets from seeing SRHR (Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights) as a siloed and contentious public health issue, and instead shape their understanding as SRHR as a prerequisite for bipartisan policy goals related to gender equality and empowerment.” "The energy transition in Africa is not just about access to energy," says Claude Kabemba, executive director of South Africa Resource Watch. "For us, the energy transition is about rebuilding Africa’s economic structure, and economic transformation. We can build new economies out of that."
