Dear John,

Due to the terrible mass shooting in Lewiston last week, we postponed our annual Evening for the Environment. While many of us are still processing, mourning, and grieving this tragedy, we are also beginning to come together to heal and move forward.

We wanted to let you know that this year’s Evening for the Environment has been rescheduled. The event is sold out with an extensive waitlist, but we are planning to record the program and share it widely after the event.

For those of you who are already registered, please note that the event will be held later this month on Wednesday, November 29, at UNE's Innovation Hall from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.

If you are not registered, but would like to receive the link to the recording, please sign up here.

I WANT THE RECORDING

The Evening for the Environment is a gathering to celebrate the environmental accomplishments of the year, and brings together local leaders, legislators, nonprofit staff, business owners, community advocates, and all who are passionate about protecting the environment and creating thriving communities.

The program will include a spoken word performance by Signature MiMi (she/siya/they). She is one half of the eclectic duo Signature Soul, and creates with words, sounds, visuals, space, nature, technology, and community to inspire and share stories of strength, survival, and serendipity.

For the speaking portion of the event, marine biologist, policy expert, and Bowdoin College Roux Distinguished Scholar Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson will be in conversation with Penobscot Nation Ambassador Maulian Bryant. Ambassador Bryant will talk with Dr. Johnson about her insights as presented in her various works.

We’re looking forward to an uplifting conversation and an opportunity to approach our climate future with hope. We invite you to sign-up today to receive the recording. We hope you’ll be inspired, too.

With warmth,

Team MCV - Beth, Chloe, Gina, Kathleen, Kelt, Maggie, Maureen, Meghan, Nick, Rani, Stacie, & Will
