Dear Reader,
I’m excited to share our newly released Fall 2023 Impact Report <[link removed]>. Our report provides updates on the real-world changes that resulted from both our current and past investigations, including how:
* In August, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas for the first time acknowledged <[link removed]> that he should have reported selling real estate to billionaire Harlan Crow in 2014 on his annual financial disclosure form.
* LA’s housing department took immediate action <[link removed]> against the illegal conversion of residential hotels, ordering 17 building owners to comply with the law.
* The Norfolk Southern railroad company offered early short-term fixes <[link removed]> to solve the dangerous issue of blocked train crossings — and we are watching closely for them to provide a more permanent solution.
Your support helped us achieve these results and much more. Thank you for helping make this work possible.
Best Wishes, Robin Sparkman President, ProPublica
